As I am getting lot of emails and comments with the question “How do i sign sis files?”

today I would like to guide you how to sign symbian files in simple way.

you might have seen several times,while installing applications you get “certificate error“

here is the solution to come out this error.

(Signing files avoids certificate error while installing application)

Fallow these simple steps:

1) Go to http://cer.opda.cn/en/?module=index&action=register and register,

 

2) Login to your opda account by your username and password.

 

3) After login you will see a webpage like this bellow screen shot.

Click on Apply Cer as shown bellow.

 

4) After clicking on Apply Cer you will see as in Bellow screen shot.

Enter all 4 entries.

a] Your handset model (example-Nokia 5800)

b] Enter your mobile IMEI number. press *#06# on your phone to know your IMEI

(your IMEI contains total 15 digit number)

c] Re enter your IMEI number

d] Remark:just enter your name

recheck all entries are correct and then then click SUBMIT APPLICATION

 

 

5) After submitting application you will see something like this.

and wait for upto 24hours usually sooner.

 

6) Re login your opda account after 24hours then will getting your certificate and key.

download them.just click on cer and key.

 

Now you got your certificate and key for your handset.

The next step is how to sign application with your certificate and key

first thing is that you need to download this application http://tools.symbianfile.com

and install it on your computer (OS:Windows XP,Win vista)

Open POT SIGN TOOLS and will see like above screen shot.

Click on add sis files that you want sign the app and then click on cer select your certificate that you just downloaded from opda and also the key.

Finally click on Sign Sis Files and you are done!

Now you can install application without any certificate error.
